Is Street vs. Stage on SYTYCD working for you?

Hi everyone.  Did you see last Monday’s episode of SYTYCD?  We are disappointed because the dancers are not growing as much as we had hoped. Meanwhile, the dance styles seem to blend together because they all have some form of hiphop or animation in them.   Even the cha cha number was “club cha cha” rather than a strictly “ballroom” form.  If you had watched the previous week’s 10th year anniversary show of SYTYCD, you would see the caliber of past performances which is missing thus far.  This year’s dancers need to push themselves out of their comfort zones and challenge themselves to more.  We know these dancers can dance and perform, but can they reach new heights?

So You Think You Can Dance Eliminates 2!

Have you watched last night’s episode of SYTYCD?  The choreography was wonderful and the dancers worked hard.  Ballet Dancer Jim was able to get down and hip hop with street dancer JaJa.  We sure hope that next week’s episode pushes all the dancers outside of their comfort zone, not just Jim.  The street and stage dancers executed the intricacies of each of the closing numbers beautifully.   Congratulations to all dancers.  We are sorry to see Lilly leave so soon.  Best of luck to both Lilly and Darian.

So You Think You Can Dance Top 20 dancers!

Last night SYTYCD presented its top 20 dancers and introduced some new choreographers.  While overall last night’s episode was entertaining, we are  interested to see whether the dancers will be asked to try new genres of dance. Travis Wall and Stephen “Twitch” Boss encouraged their teams.  Stage dancers need to bring more personality to their dancing, and Street dancers need to bring more technique.  Next week at least 1 stage dancer and 1 street dancer will go home. Watch our video to hear our thoughts.

Tappin Duo Talks SYTYCD and the film, Cake, starring Jennifer Aniston!

Hi everyone!  Have any of you been watching So You Think You Can Dance?  Did you see the Vegas auditions?  How about the movie Cake starring Jennifer Aniston?  Watch our video below to hear our thoughts.  We are hoping So You Think You Can Dance will get to their top 20 pretty soon so that there will be a bigger variety of dance styles.  There is only so much lyrical/contemporary and popping/animation that we can watch.  The movie Cake however is different since it gives us a close look at pain.   Adriana Barrazza, who plays the housekeeper Silvana, is absolutely wonderful.  Jennifer Anison deserved her Golden Globe nomination for her portrayal of a woman in physical pain.

Are you Watching SYTYCD? Have you seen the movie “Spy?”

We wanted to share some thoughts with you on a variety of topics.  First we do a taste test of a homemade cherry juice and ginger beverage meant to help joint inflammation. We also talk about last night’s episode of the new So You Think We Can Dance.  Finally we talk about the movie “Spy”, and we highly recommend it to all Melissa McCarthy fans.  Miranda Hart from “Call the Midwives” has wonderful comedic timing and delivery as well.  Later this week we will post another tap dancing video.  Enjoy!

Street vs. Stage: Who’s Ready for So You Think You Can Dance?

Hi Everyone.  As you know, a new season of SYTYCD starts tonight on FOX.  This season will be a little different because the dancers will have to decide if they are competing as Team Street coached by Twitch or Team Stage coached by Travis. Nigel Lithgow, Paula Abdul and Jason DeRulo are the judges for this season.
